K-Family Events & Initiatives.
November K-Family Month
November was Kiwanis Family Month and Circle K International held a competition asking members to show their K-Family love and spirit by posting stories, quotes, photos, videos, their own pieces of advice, and anything K-Family related on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram with the chance to win prizes. While this was a very successful campaign, that doesn't mean it should end at the end of November. So we want to remind you to make sure to thank your Kiwanis supporters all year round and don't forget to stay connected to the Kiwanians who support you and make sure to attend or volunteer at one of your sponsoring Kiwanis club's events to show your gratitude for all their help.
Buffalo International Day of Service
On Saturday, October 4th, 2014, the University of Buffalo Circle K Club (currently the biggest Circle K club in New York District) held the first-ever Buffalo International Day of Service. The event saw Circle K members from all over the New York and Eastern Canada districts come together to perform outstanding service to the Buffalo and Western New York community. There were three groups doing three different types of service projects, and District Governor Katie Wyslocky and District Administrator Jan Alexanian had a blast packaging 35 lb. boxes filled with food to be sent out to community food centres all across the county, as well as, helping design promotional material for the Western New York food bank. Together with the help of six other Circle K members from the NY district, they packaged over 3255 lbs of food!
Afterwards, they were invited to attend a barbecue at one of the University of Buffalo Circle K member’s house and were greeted with a warm welcome and lots of delicious food. They shared stories about different service projects held in each respective district, and the American Circle K-ers seemed particularly interested in the Eastern Canada District DCON in February 2015. They look forward to meeting some more Canadians and were very eager to remind Jan and Katie that they must pass on an invitation to all the Canadians to visit them and join their service projects which they do every single weekend. So, fellow EC Circle K members, please send us an email if you’re ever interested in doing a volunteering project, or just helping out with one, because the UB Circle K members would love to meet you!

He received a standing ovation and was recognized for his contribution to the organization by Immediate Past Governor Hope Markes. Overall, the DCON was a very enjoyable one - the Kiwanians were a lot of fun as always, and the weather was absolutely beautiful.
