2010 Eastern Canada Circle K District Convention HIGHLIGHTS

Wow! Congratulations to the 5th Annual Eastern Canada Circle K District in Formation's Planning and Host Committees for a great DCon. We set a new record with 50 registered for the Convention and over 60 at the Gala Banquet. We had representatives from Dalhousie University, Carleton University, Trent University, University of Toronto, George Brown College, York University, Ryerson Polytechnic University and University of Waterloo, as well as many Key Clubbers, Kiwanians and City Counsellor the City of Toronto Councillor and Budget Chief Shelley Carroll and The Hon. Carolyn Bennett, MP.

The fun started early with the clothespin challenge (if you got caught with your legs crossed you lost your clothespin[s]) that ran all weekend, the pantyhose balloon stuffing contest and a few other icebreakers... before the Latin dancing demonstrations and lessons... Cha-cha-cha! Saturday morning started off with too much food, workshops, Sleeping Children Around the World presentation(SCAW), Management by Slogan Presentation, Service Fair, more clothespins changing hands, more food, House of Delegates, Elections, free time, more food at the Banquet at Casa Loma, War Child Presentation, Award Winners Presentations, free time, more food Sunday morning, Retirement of the 2009-2010 District Board, Installation of the 2010-2011 District Board, clothespin challenge winner and followed finally by the Eastern Canada District in Formation's traditional game of extreme musical chairs....and final good-byes.

Hot off the Press! Memorial University students and members of the Kiwanis Club of St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador are working together to form a Circle K Club. They started recruiting in September 2009 and are just short of Charter strength. Looks like George Brown and Algonquin College Pembroke have some competition!
